All you need is a good set of snow tires and a little common sense!

Edit: my friend took this and sent it to me(from a passenger seat)

Or if you're really daring...just common sense.

That makes two us. Drove two RWD cars with summer tires through 7 NJ winters. Only times I had problems was when the common sense was lacking.

yeah I've had two RWD pickups used winters once, didn't feel it made a big difference. I have yet to get stuck.

wow, I wouldn't even dare to take my summer tires through any winter Lol. That's too ballsy for me, my PSS would never make it out of my driveway!

Conti DWS are nice and slidey, yet easy to control. Hoon away my friend. I know I am.

depending on the snow conditions, if I have to take my family someplace its a tossup between which is safer:

The sportwagen TDI on winters

The land cruiser on snowflake badged all terrains.

either way works.

Common sense is not falling with the snow. Most peeps in 4 x 4 anything have it pinned not remembering they also need to stop... Also, don't pullover on the left side on a highway, when there is no apron, and get out of your fucking car. Keep going until the next exit, or pullover on the right (apron) and figure it out.

Couldnt have said it better myself, emphasize the following distances. On my way back home an STi was basically tailgating me with roads like that second picture. I had to leave more than ample room for me and him to safely stop if need be.

have DWS on my E90, I agree, fun but still easily controllable. Nice E92!
